Hunter S. Johnson is an AVN-nominated filmmaker, performer and journalist. He runs the comedy-porn label BEsmut, and is really tired of censorship and toxic masculinity in porn.

How long you’ve been in the industry?

On and off (mostly on) for 15 years. I started producing films for a local sex toy company at 18, then did camming for several years. Eventually I moved to Berlin and just generally whored around.

What you enjoy doing in your free time?

Working on projects. Sincerely, life didn’t give me enough time for all the things I want to accomplish, my perfect Sunday is sitting down to write an article. Oh, and petting my cats. That’s also a fantastic use of free time.

What you’re currently reading or listening to?

“The Women” by Kirstin Hannah, it’s a historical fiction about the women who fought in Vietnam and the hardships they faced when coming home. It’s…. very, very dark. The late 60’s were not a good time.

One piece of sex advice you’d give your younger self.

Don’t stress about what other people think. You can have sex for your own reasons, in your own time. You don’t have to prove anything or chase some made up idea of being man enough. Just relax and be kind to yourself dude.
