    Pleasure Recap

So what did you think of Cravings?

On this sweltering day, Cravings takes pregnancy porn out of the fetishized and allows a pregnant woman to become the fetishizer. Maxine filmed Cravings when she was 9 months pregnant with her second child. Cravings normalizes desiring sex when pregnant and allows Maxine to be an object of desire. And not just desired by her partner, but by a random stranger in the grocery store. Maxine walks in hot, hungry and horny, ready to eat Mickey Mod up like the tasty snack he is.

What you can learn from Cravings:
    Pregnant bodies are sexy
All bodies deserve their own sexual wants and desires
Pregnant women are sexual beings and deserve pleasure too
Fantasizing is a way to tap into our desires
Where there’s a will, there’s a way (to have sex in a storage closet)
Here are some themes covered in Cravings you may have noticed:

    Pregnancy Sex
    Pregnant women as sexual beings
    Fantasy
    Pregnancy Sex
Pregnancy is an important phase in some women’s lives. Hormone changes during pregnancy often cause fluctuations in sex drive and libido, making some women extremely horny while others get the ick – and sometimes both depending on the stage of pregnancy! Clearly, Cravings star Maxine was in the horny camp the day she walked into this grocery store and saw Mickey. Our culture isn’t great on acceptance of women’s natural bodies and pregnancy is no exception. Many women abstain from sex due during pregnancy because they are uncomfortable with their bodies or finding it hard to reconcile the idea of being a mom with being a sexual being. Maxine challenges this in Cravings by being hot, hungry, and horny even as she’s about to pop.
Did you know that people believe sex might help induce labor (though this has not been proven)

    Pregnant Women as Sexual Beings
Cravings filmography style is dreamy, with natural and soft light. From the beginning, we see a sweaty Maxine cooling herself with a popsicle. But something in this depiction already feels different.

Typically, we see images of pregnant women happy, gazing down with their arms around their large bellies, accompanied by a smiling partner. Their only priority is caring for the child about to come. In Cravings, we see Maxine in her sexy glory, her pregnant breasts bulging out of a tight white t-shirt and jeans. In porn, pregnant women are fetishized. But in Cravings, Maxine is clearly the one leading this flirtation and encounter. It’s all about her desires.

Is this real life? Or just a fantasy?
After Maxine & Micky meet, the shot cuts to them getting it on in the storage closet. After the sex scene, it cuts back to Maxine in the store, seemingly just “come back to earth”. She smiles at Mickey and says thank you. As the viewer, you realize this could have been only a fantasy on Maxine’s part.

Nearly 80% of people say they want to act on their favorite sexual fantasy, however, only half have shared this fantasy with a partner. The most common fantasies include multiple partners and power/control or rough sex.

    Did you notice?
Like with any film, if a porn shows a brand logo without permission, this can be considered trademark infringement. Luckily, Olipop & Spread the Love were kind enough to send us their approval and some products to use in Cravings.

Fun Fact – Maxine is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of Bay Area Workers Support (BAWS), an organization providing resources and mutual aid for Bay Area sex workers.
