Mafer is a Mexican journalist, communication specialist, and behavioural scientist. She has a background in public health focused on sexual and reproductive care. She is passionate about providing sexual health education and fighting misinformation through inclusive, factual content. She has a weekly newsletter called The Determinant, where she discusses the impact social determinants of health have on our access to information and healthcare, as well as sharing some thoughts on Bravo and smutty novels. When she is not writing, she serves as the founder and lead strategist for Unbothered Strategies, a communications agency focused on helping sexual and reproductive health brands reach their audience and continue to grow.
